Saturday morning a time we set aside Reading over your shoulder We like the same lines, We know each other’s style. If Sunday feels bitter I know the reasons why Don’t have to explain it nothing to gain by keeping yourself inside. Romantics like us are filling up the streets now that the colleges have let out. If you’re waiting for someone to say “You belong here.” I’ll say “You belong here.” like Tom Sawyer, secretly we all want to settle down some day. Maybe there’s a reason We’ve found each other here Endless adolescence isn’t a blessing isn’t a blessing. So when Dadelus feels lonely We know the reasons why Still try to explain it Nothing to gain by keeping it all inside.

When you moved to this town, I knew, I had no chance to keep my cool. So we hung out, and I found out, I was right. All of the warnings meant nothing when you showed up at my front door and the sunset was enormous in my eyes. End of the summer. It felt over. What am I to do? Is it so wrong, is it so wrong to hang out with you. Yeah I was blinded by the season, watched the grass turned from green to brown, while I waited to for my moment to arrive. Just give me a reason, to believe, that it didn’t mean anything and I’ll try to move on, yeah get on with my life. I know, I know that it’s a fantasy, but I’m buying in. If you never believe in the fantasy, why even try again? Hey Stephen I could give you 50 reasons why I should be the one you choose. All those other girls, well they’re beautiful, but would they write a song for you?

It’s been a while since I committed to someone, and I know it should be fun, but... I can’t take the way, you don’t respond to what I say, you’re just staring at my face. I’d rather be alone than standing still with you while your life passes by. You’re so nice, and I know I’m not the quiet type, and that can be hard to keep up with. but all my friends drive me crazy every day, I mean that in the best way. I’d rather be alone than standing still with you while your life passes by. It’s not your fault, it’s not your fault...that I’ll never settle down. That I’ll never settle for less than true love.

Future Ghost 02:25
Around the bonfire with the first signs of winter here Cold air and alcohol keeping the mood sincere Richard says “Dejavu means you’re where you’re meant to be.” Well, If it’s prescience I know what I want to see Wish I could see your future ghost haunting all the places I go. So I know you’ll stay around When all the other people I know Take their lives to distant places. I want to hear the sound of our future voices bouncing round this town. We put the fire out and come home through empty streets Warm incandescent light heating the cold bedsheets Feels a little dangerous, this much honesty. Here’s how I’d tell you how much you mean to me Hope you see my future ghost Haunting all the places you go So you know I’ll stay around When all the other people you know Take their lives to distant places I want to hear the sound of our future voices bouncing round this town I wanna see our future ghosts haunting all the places I go.
